You are just Miss Perfect, aren't you? 여기서는 이 말은 약간 비꼬면서 하는 말이다. 당신 잘났잖아~~ 안 그래요? 정도의 말이다. 물론 남자에게 말할 때는 You are just Mr. Perfect, aren't you?이라고 해야 된다. 본문 에서는 잘 난 당신이 하시지 왜 그래요?의 뜻이다.

그리고 이 Mr. 또는 Miss Perfect은 정말 멋쟁이이네요 라고 할 때도 사용할 수 있다. 가령, "너 남편 정말 멋쟁이네.. 얘.." 라고 할 때도 You're husband is just Mr. Perfect! 이라고 하면 된다. 이때는 비꼬는 어투가 아니다. 그래서 말이란 것은 말 할 때의 그 상황이 주요하다는 말이다. 글로 써면 똑같은 말이 이렇게 정반대의 의미를 전달한다.

그리고 이 perfect을 사용한 좋은 생활영어 표현들이 많다.
가령, 그것 참 안성맞춤이네요! 라고 할 때도 Wow! It's a perfect fit!이라고 하면 좋다. 그래서 '너한테 딱 안성맞춤이네..'라는 표현은 'It's perfect for you!'라고 하면 된다.

Mr. 에 대한 더 많은 표현을 실용문에서 살펴보자.

이 처럼 영어는 우리 사전에만 있는 뜻으로만 실제 현지에서 사용되고 있는 그 감(느낌)을 찾아 내는 데는 정말 어려움이 많다. 바로 이 점이 우리의 영어가 현지에서는 꼼짝 못하는 이유중의 하나이다. 사전의 첫머리의 정의 만을 가지고는 어림도 없다.

본문에서의 video clips은 비디오로 준비한 짤막한 clip이란 어떤 것을 이리저리 자른 것을 말한다. 따라서 여기서는 presentation에 필요한 자료를 편집한 비디오 영상물을 말한다. 물론 명사로서는 우리가 흔히 말하는 서류·편지 등을 끼우는 클립(paper clip)을 말한다. 그리고 서류를 끼우는 판을 말하는 종이끼우개는 clipboard라고 한다.

다음은 역시 본문에서 나왔던 character라는 단어를 더 현지 감각에 맞게 살펴보자.

또 비슷하게,

'main actor' in a movie에서와 같이 main actor라고 하면 좋다.

그리고 우유 부단한 성격은 'an indecisive character'라고 하면 좋다.

뭐 플롯은 뻔했고, 등장인물들은 깊이도 없고. (그것을 본다는 것은) 완전히 시간 낭비였어!
여기서  transparent는 뻔한, 속이 들여다 보이는 등을 뜻한다.
shallow는 깊이가 없는, 얕디얕은, 천박한, 피상적인(superficial)의 뜻이다.
흔히들 연속극을 보면서 하는 말이다. 그래도 볼 수 밖에 없지 않는가?
